Hollie Mitchell

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Hollie relocated to the Quad Cities in 2019 with her husband and family after spending three years in Morocco. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Armstrong Atlantic State University (now part of Georgia Southern University) and a Master of Science in Biology with a teaching certificate from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Hollie brings a global perspective to her teaching, having lived abroad for a total of eight years. Her journey includes service in the U.S. Army in South Korea and Savannah, Georgia; three years in Germany as a military spouse, where she developed an after-school tutoring program; and time in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she created a humane education program. Most recently, in Morocco, she led a humane education and TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) program. Prior to joining our team, Hollie taught science in a local school district, where she inspired students through hands-on learning and fostering relationships.

Hollie and her husband Joe have been married for 27 years and are proud parents to three children Hailey, Jayden, and Justin. Outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling, exploring nature, spending quality time with her family, and caring for animals.

A verse that has guided Hollie since the second grade is Isaiah 40:31:“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
